The name of our White Cross Chapter in San Jose is Hillside Dorcas Circle. It consists of a team of women (and men) who demonstrate a compassionate ministry with an international focus which is guided by TouchGlobal, EFCA. We gather monthly (the first Wednesday, September through June) for a hands-on work day to prepare medical items such as surgical linens and mattress covers. Hillside Dorcas Circle has supported the Tandala Hospital located in the Ubangi region of The Democratic Republic of Congo since it was built in 1955. We continue to provide medical needs; and also layettes for their 5,000 yearly births.

Many hand-crafted items like Scripture cards and stocking hats, along with materials for training in life skills, are provided to assist TouchGlobal projects as we work in conjunction with other EFCA churches around the country. At present, we send warm crafted items such as clothing and quilts to Kiev, Ukraine for people of all ages. In addition, we send baby clothing and blankets for moms, plus toiletry and gift items to the pro-life Clinic in Bucharest, Romania.

There is a growing orphan outreach through the Congolese EFC to which we have responded with basic hygiene Care Kits and an expanding opportunity for personal articles such as backpacks, dresses, and shorts. These “project kits,” in addition to the layettes, are available for construction at home.

AWANA is an exciting and fun Bible-based club for kids 3 years old, and potty trained, through 5th grade. Our Cubbies Club is for 3 and 4 year olds. Cubbies meet together and have tons of fun throughout the evening. It's a great safe place for our preschoolers to begin their AWANA experience. Our Sparks Club is for Kindergarteners, 1st and 2nd Graders. Our T&T Boys Club and our T&T Girls Club are for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders. Our Sparks and T&T Clubs begin the night with an AWANA Rally Time, where they play games, sing songs, and hear a Bible-based story. The Sparks and T&T Clubs then meet in their separate clubs for craft, games, and small group time where they recite their memory verses. Once a month, our Sparks and T&T Clubs have special theme nights.

Haiti Relief Concert
You do not want to miss this incredible evening of unforgettable music featuring our own Brian Bensing on flute. Brian will be joined by Scott Krijnen on cello, and Keisuke Nakagoshi on piano. All proceeds will go to EFCA's Touch Global for Haiti Relief Efforts. The program includes traditional and contemporary works for these instruments. There will be a reception following the performance. Come on out and enjoy an evening of live music and help raise money for those suffering in Haiti.
