Eric and Judith Hedeen, with their two boys Stephen and Daniel, are New Tribes Mission missionaries working with the Malaumanda people group in the country of Papua New Guinea. Their primary purpose is to see a church planted and established within that area. This work originally started with 4 families back in the mid 90s but due to different circumstances Eric and Judith are the sole remaining members of the team. There are currently 60-70 believers in Malaumanda and about five men who are starting to function as Bible teachers within the church. Currently the church continues to be taught by the Bible teachers in the Hedeen’s absence. They are also continuing to teach literacy to those within the village that desire to become literate in their own language. Upon our return to Malaumanda we will continue to teach and disciple the believers there while starting the significant task of translating the New Testament into the Malaumandan language. Please be in prayer for us as we take on this large task. Pray also for us to be able to find another family to join us in the work.
