Friday, April 19th is Good Friday. We will have a somber, reflective service with heartfelt worship and a message as we remember the death and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Good news is to come, join us on Easter Sunday as we celebrate Christ’s triumph over death and our sins! A children’s program is available during the Good Friday service for infants through preschoolers.
Welcome to the 2019 Summer Musical, “Faith News.” The action takes place during a news broadcast originating from inside the Pearly Gates. Bringing some of your favorite Bible Stories to life, our newscast flows back and forth between top-flight Bible news coverage by Cameron Flowers and Summer Showers, to stellar on-the-ground reporting by our roving angel duo, Chera Bim and Sara Fim. Clever, snappy dialogue and fun, catchy, Bible-based songs help tell the stories of Noah and the Ark, Joshua, Queen Esther, Moses, Abraham and Sarah, and, direct from the New Testament, Ananias and Saul/Paul. FNN – The Faith News Network – spotlights all the best in Heavenly headlines; builds faith through real, Bible-based news stories; inspires through sharing the encounters of real Bible heroes and encourages us all to believe anything is possible when we follow God’s plan for our lives.
High School and Jr. High Students are in for a week of fun, fellowship, and faith-building at Hume Lake. This summer we want students to understand that Christ followers…follow Christ. Although many people in our culture have identified as a “Christian”, there is often a misunderstanding of how Jesus defines following. Even the earliest followers of Christ wrestled with the same questions we face today: “How do we follow a God we cannot see?” We will see how Jesus himself answers this question, and enables us to follow Him through His Spirit and the Church.

Parenting for the Next Generation
Is your 14-year-old sarcastic, or even mean when you ask him to do something? Does your 5-year-old have meltdowns when she doesn’t get her way? Is your 7-year-old negative, your 9-year-old mean to his brother or your 3-year-old defiant? Maybe you don’t have any of these problems – yet, you’re just starting out and would like to avoid them if possible.
Drs. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, Directors of the National Center for Biblical Parenting, will be at Hillside Church for a live seminar that will teach you how to develop a parenting plan that takes your child’s unique needs into account. Instead of dealing only with behavior, you’ll learn how to shape your child’s heart, so that he or she learns to want to do what is best.
This seminar is appropriate for parents with children of all ages. It will give you the tools to address sibling conflict, poor school performance, disrespect, laziness, procrastination, sloppy work, emotional outbursts, self-centeredness, and so much more.

Cost is $50 per couple, $25 per person. A children's program for infants to 5th grade is provided.
